Healthy Worksite Forum Focuses on Healthy Workplace Culture

On March 8, the Healthy Worthington Business Team kicked off it’s membership drive with a Healthy Workplace Forum. The seven critical characteristics of a Healthy Work Force Culture were reviewed by the Worthington Business Team Leader Dr Rich Menke. Worthington Fire Chief Scott Highly discussed life saving information on what to do if there would be an emergency at your work place.

Companies with wellness initiatives discussed why they have one, why your company may consider one, what it may include, the costs of a program and their ROI (return on their investment). All companies showed that the bottom profit line was affected positively by their wellness programs.

The companies that presented were Worthington Industries, ISP Chemical Corporation and Union Rural Electric Cooperative.

Companies with programs and solutions to help create a Healthy Worksite culture were given by Mt Carmel Corporate Health, The Rite Bite Wellness Center, yourQuest Prevention Program, Working Partners and World Gym. Ohio Department of Health’s “Healthy Ohio Initiative” discussed the requirements to receive a “Healthy Business Award.”

For more information on business initiatives, see the business page. The business team is now offering healthy lunch programs starting May 2 at Buca Di Beppo. See events page for more information.
